In delivering the perfect bike the final and most important ingredient is the work done by our mechanics before it leaves us.
Every Islabike order receives personal attention from someone who knows and understands our bikes inside-out. Our highly trained workshop team work exclusively on Islabikes, preparing each one to precise parameters with size-specific adjustments, as well as fitting any accessories.
It’s easy to forget that Islabikes were one of the first direct-to-customer bicycle manufacturers. Our “shop window” has always been online, but in those early days it wasn’t possible to buy through our website, so we spoke with every one of our customers who decided to order a bike from us. Things have moved on since 2006, but in a world of digital communication we know that our customers still value being able to pick up the phone and talk to us. This is why our dedicated and friendly customer service team are still on hand for answering questions, clear and friendly expert advice, technical support and to take orders over the telephone.
With an obsession for concentrating on the details that others ignore, we have built our reputation as revolutionaries in cycling by applying our design philosophy to deliver refined, high quality bikes to riders who need something different.
Every Islabike is the result of our holistic approach to bike design and passion for continual improvement. Exclusively designed Islabikes components are developed and selected in-house to work as a complete package in tandem with our class-leading frame geometry. This ensures that every Islabike delivers a confidence-inspiring, effortless ride.

Islabikes was born in 2006 when former professional cyclist and triple British cyclo-cross champion Isla Rowntree set about changing the future of children’s bikes.
As the cycling expert in her family and group of friends, Isla found that she was being asked for recommendations for bikes for their young children. As an evangelist for cycling in all its forms, she realised she was unable to wholeheartedly recommend any of the children’s bikes on the market at that time which were typically low quality, very heavy and ergonomically poor. She was concerned that they were more likely to deter children from cycling rather than instil a lifelong love for it.
